Soapy massage in Bangkok is what 8 Fantasy is known for. We are at 22 Sukhumvit Soi 8, a two-minute walk from BTS Nana, Exit 2, open daily from 11:00 until 02:00. Every soapy session runs in a private en-suite room with a full-size bathtub, and rooms are never shared.

What a soapy massage is
A soapy massage is a bath and a massage in one. Instead of oil, the therapist works with a thick, warm soap lather, and instead of a dry table, the massage happens on an air mattress or in the bath itself. The lather does two things at once: it cleans, and it removes almost all friction, so the therapist can glide along the back and legs rather than press into them.
It is the oldest of the Bangkok massage styles and still the most popular one. Thai bathhouses have offered it since the 1960s, and the format has barely changed — hot water, soap, and a long unhurried session.
How a session runs at 8 Fantasy
You choose from the menu at reception and go up to your room. The bath is filled and the water brought to temperature before you get in, so nothing is rushed at the start.
- The bath. You soak first. This is what makes the rest of the session work — warm skin holds lather, cold skin does not.
- The lather. Soap is worked into a thick foam and applied over the back, shoulders and legs.
- The massage. Body-to-body strokes along the length of the back, then the front. Pressure is broad rather than deep.
- The rinse. A warm shower at the end, with fresh towels and amenities.
Sessions run 60 or 90 minutes. The 90-minute booking is the one most guests choose for soapy, because the bath and the rinse take real time and a 60-minute session leaves less room for the massage itself.
The rooms
- Full-size bathtub and a separate shower in every room
- Queen-size bed with linen changed between guests
- Air conditioning, dimmable lighting and a door that locks
- Towels, soap, shampoo and amenities restocked every session
The bath is inside your room, not in a shared area. Nothing — tub, shower or towels — is used by anyone else between cleanings.
Soapy, nuru and B2B — how they differ
| Style | Medium | Where it happens |
|---|---|---|
| Soapy | Warm soap lather | Bath and air mattress |
| Nuru massage | Odourless nuru gel | On a mat |
| B2B massage | Warm massage oil | On the bed |
Soapy is the warmest and the most traditional. Nuru gel is more slippery than soap and does not wash off as easily, so those sessions run longer. B2B is the driest and simplest, and it is the only one of the three we can bring to your hotel.
Price and hours
Soapy massage starts at 2,000 THB. The full menu and session lengths are on the price list. We are open daily 11:00 – 02:00, seven days a week including public holidays.
If you would rather not come in
Soapy needs a bath, so it cannot be done as an outcall. If you are staying nearby and would prefer to stay put, our outcall massage service covers oil and body-to-body work at hotels around Nana, Asok and Phrom Phong.
Booking
Walk-ins are normal and a room is usually free within a few minutes. To hold a specific time, call or message +66 82 836 1625 earlier the same day. English is spoken at reception.

Frequently asked questions
What does soapy massage mean?
A soapy massage is a bath and a massage in one. Instead of oil, the therapist works with a thick warm soap lather, and instead of a dry table the massage happens on an air mattress or in the bath itself. In Thai it is known as ab ob nuad (อาบอบนวด).
How much is a soapy massage in Bangkok?
At 8 Fantasy a soapy massage starts at 2,000 THB for 40 minutes with one therapist. The style never changes the price — only the length and the number of therapists do.
What is the difference between soapy and nuru massage?
Soapy uses a thick soap lather and a bath. Nuru uses an odourless seaweed gel warmed to body temperature on a waterproof mat, with no bath involved. Both are body to body; the medium and the setup are what differ.
Do I get my own room and bathtub?
Yes. Every soapy session runs in a private en-suite room with a full-size bathtub and a separate shower. Rooms are never shared and linen is changed between guests.
