It’s been a while since the folks over at Human Touch have released a massage chair. In fact, I don’t recall seeing anything after the Super Novo to be quite honest! That chair was fantastic, of course – top of the line with a plethora of features, all capable of delivering one heck of a massage. As you’d expect, the pricing was very quite a bit!
We’ll look at all the technical stats a little later of course, but for now you should know that the Quies is a 2022 release and what I’d consider to be an entry level massage chair.
Now, I have noted that Human Touch chairs are a touch (excuse the pun) more expensive than what you can find from the other big brands such as the Osaki’s/Titan’s and Ogawa’s of the world. As we’ll see a little later in the comparison section, the Quies is quite a bit pricey for a 2D chair. Alright, let’s look at the technical aspects!
In no particular order, here are 4 of the key features that in my mind define/encapsulate what the Quies is all about. There’s more than just these 4, but I don’t feel those deserve much attention for the purpose of this review.
#1 User Experience & User Flexibility Is Quite Phenomenal!
Here’s 2 things lumped into one: flexibility and experience. Let’s look at each one in some more detail, shall we?
The Quies does phenomenally well in both of these aspects, if you ask me. Concerning flexibility, it has been designed to accommodate a height range from 5’0-6’9 ft., which is quite incredible and not something you can expect to find on most chairs.
Concerning experience, it’s got 9 auto modes which is also pretty good. From an operational standpoint, the Quies comes with a well laid out remote control that’s very easy to understand and operate. Below is what you can expect!
One thing that has stood out to me particularly with Human Touch products (not just massage chairs by the way) is how much thought and consideration is placed upon operation.
All in all, the Quies fares pretty well when it comes to user experience and flexibility. I do think these 2 aspects are where the chair tends to stand out most.
#2 It’s Very Much A 2D Chair W/ An L-Track!
Looking at the price tag, some might think the Quies is a 3D massage chair. Make no mistake, it is very much a 2D chair with 2-dimensional rollers!
Are 2D chairs not worth looking at anymore? Nope, there are still tons of awesome 2D chairs that are well worth the money. Even though the technology is old, manufacturers understood this kind of roller system really well, and because of this, there were some legendary 2D chairs which consumers absolutely loved!
For those of you who don’t know, 2D stands for 2-dimensional, and this roller type is characterized by 2 primary movements: vertical and horizontal. The vertical movement is along the direction of the spine, and the horizontal is along the width of the back. The image below depicts this well.
Let’s talk L-Track for a moment. An L-Track is essentially an extended roller track whereby the rollers can extend all the way right down to the glutes and hamstrings. Here’s what it looks like!
One thing I wanted to clarify: SL-Track and L-Track are one and the same! I don’t know why manufacturers even use the term “SL”. It just makes things confusing, if you ask me. Manufacturers make the argument that “SL” covers both “S” and “L” portions; it doesn’t matter as L-Track covers both.
#3 Moderate Massage Intensity Is What You Can Expect
A little disappointing for a chair of this price, but it is what it is. As far as massage intensity is concerned, you can expect a mild to moderate intensity.
For most this might be enough, but for others, unfortunately not so. I am taken a back a little because I have seen 2D chairs that offer moderate to strong intensities, granted not deep tissue level, but still a strong intensity. A disappointment for sure, and even more so knowing that this is a 2022 release.
#4 Air Compression Massage Coupled With Dedicated Foot Rollers
Human Touch’s coin their version of air compression massage as “cloud touch acupressure”. You can call it what you want. but to be quite frank, air compression massage is air compression massage!
What I do like about the air compression massage on this chair is that a lot of emphasis has been placed in the calf region. The overall massage coverage is 4.5” wide and 15” high on each calf – this is actually pretty good to see! Furthermore, there are dedicated foot rollers on either foot rest that massage the feet.
This is definitely good to see, but I am left wanting a little more especially consider how much the Quies costs. In addition to the current setup, I would have liked to see calf rollers as well.

- Fantastic User Flexibility—I think this is the Quies’ biggest selling point: the fact that it can accommodate almost 2 feet of height coverage makes it one very flexible massage chair! This is particularly great for those who live in a home where individuals are both really tall/short and in between. Also great for massage establishments who can then target a wide range of clients!

- Very Easy To Operate!—On par with every other Human Touch chair I’ve reviewed, the Quies is super easy to operate. The remote control is intuitive and simple, and the controls well laid out. In terms of user experience, 9 auto modes provide a fresh experience over the long run.

- Priceyyyyyy!—My biggest problem with the Quies is its price tag. Currently retailing for $4,999 on prime massage chairs, the Quies is one darn expensive 2D chair! Heck I’d be critiquing 3D chairs for costing this much, and this is not even that. I’m sorry but I can’t justify the pricing no matter which I way I look at it.

- Moderate Massage Intensity Just Doesn’t Cut It!—Not these days when there’s tons of options to choose from. If we were talking about a chair that retails for a $1K or slightly more, totally different story. I do think Human Touch should have designed the Quies to accommodate a range of intensities. This would’ve offered more flexibility to the end user.

Moment of truth! To make it very simple for you, no, it’s just not worth it. If you’re looking to splurge $5K, there’s tons (and I mean tons!) of fantastic massage chairs out there, which are far more capable than the Quies in more ways than one.

This is a phenomenal, beast of a unit with 21 auto modes, calf rollers, an L-Track, all powered by 3D roller technology. It outdoes the Quies in pretty much every department, if you ask me. If the price is the exact same, why in the world would you not get that instead, right!?
If you don’t wanna splurge $5K, you can still get away with a solid 3D chair in the form of Titan’s Pro Omega or even the Titan 3D Quantum.
Again, worth checking out if you want a decent massage chair at a very reasonable price!

I hope you can see the argument I’m trying to make here. I’m certainly not against the Quies or Human Touch for that matter. In fact, I love me some Human Touch! I’m not pro Osaki/Titan or anything of the sort. It’s just that I don’t see how it makes sense to invest this kind of money on a subpar chair, that’s all the argument I’m trying to make here.
I hope this was insightful to you. I’d like to reiterate that I have nothing against the Quies as a chair, I think it’s still pretty decent all things considered. It’s just the pricing I can’t wrap my head around.
