How To Release Back Pain From Hips

Relieve Back Pain From Your Hips

In this short video, we explain how to use a massage roller to roll out your lower back to relieve low back pain and tension.

Can Weak Glutes Cause Low Back Pain?

Yes, low back pain is so prevalent and usually a result of glute pain that creates tightness in the glutes from sitting for too long or stagnation. For that reason, tight and sore feeling is often a result of having weak, short, tight and underdeveloped glutes.

Massage For Chronic Low Back Pain

Low back pain is a common condition, with statistics showing that around 20% of adults will suffer from low back pain at some point in their life.  The hips and glutes are some of the largest muscle groups in the body.  Stretching and massage for the hip and glute muscles can help relieve the pressure buildup in these areas thus reducing low back pain.

Why Are Glutes Important For Lower Back Pain?

Gluteus maximus, also known as the “large gluteal muscle”, is the largest and most superficial of the three gluteal muscles. Its thick fleshy mass is attached to the outer surface of the ilium between the anterior and inferior gluteal lines, to the posterior cheek of the sacrum, to the hip bone (pelvis) at its apex, and to a narrow area on each side below and behind it, where it is continuous with the fascia lata; its numerous radiating fibers are attached to various ridges on the outer surface of the pelvis. The upper fibers strongly support the spine of the pelvis due to their insertion on sacral alae (triangular areas at posterior aspect of pelvic bones).

How To Stretch Low Back Pain?

As you can imagine, pain can be felt in the low back, leading to lower back spasms or weakness. Because the glute muscles are incredibly important for releasing tension in the low back which can cause back pain, check out instructional video on how to get relief!
