What Causes Pain In The Middle Right Side Of Your Back?

When Should I Worry About Middle Back Pain?

Sometimes back pain is a normal result of wear and tear, but it‘s important to be aware of when it‘s might be time to get checked out by your doctor. Although occasional discomfort is a totally normal ocurrence for many people, if that pain goes on for more than a few days, it might be a sign of something more serious. First, ask yourself what the sensation of pain is that you’re experiencing. If it‘s sharp, and there is heat in the area, this could be a sign of something more acute like a muscle spasm, light or heavy muscle tear, or sprain. In this case, usually ice is a great way to treat it in the first few days. If it goes on for more than a few days with light icing, it‘s best to seek medical attention. On the other hand, if the pain is dull or achy, this could indicate that you have a more chronic issue. In this case, it‘s important to make an appointment with a massage therapist or physical therapist to get the right treatment.

How Can You Tell If Back Pain Is Muscular Or Something Else?

It can be difficult to tell if your back pain is muscular or something else, but there are typically some tell tale signs as to if it’s muscular or not. Most back pain is muscular, and typically occurs after some sort of movement or action, sometimes even sleeping on it wrong can cause muscle strain. It will usually be localized to one area and may be accompanied by tenderness and soreness, and maybe even sensation of heat. Additionally, muscular back pain can likely flare up with movement, so if it gets worse when you move a certain way like twisting or lifting, it‘s likely to be only muscular, phew!
